Exercise Physiology services
Exercise Physiology services can be accessed through the following means:
Workers Compensation & Compulsory Third Party (CTP)
Clients who have sustained injuries in the workplace, or as a result of motor vehicle accidents (MVA), are provided programs that focus on the re-education of efficient movement that provide long term sustainable change. This ensures that a client can make a full return to the workforce, in either their selected duties or to provide assistance with retraining for an alternative occupation. The programs are fully supervised by an accredited Exercise Physiologist and can be delivered at our specialised studio in Adamstown. We do have the capacity to travel for clients outside of the local area.
Department of Veteran Affairs
At ProActive Rehabilitation and Health we are able to treat members of the armed services that have a Gold Card or a White Card. This service is provided for the rehabilitation of injuries sustained whilst in service.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Programs are developed to assist clients with disabilities through the NDIS and can be fully funded to aid with the financial costs associated with meeting their rehabilitation goals. This funding must be allocated under Improved Health and Well Being. Programs are designed utilising specialised equipment to increase function through ways that are not achieved with conventional treatment methods. Our Exercise Physiologists have achieved functional gains for clients with Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Strokes, Acquired Brain Injuries, Amputations, Gillian Barre Syndrome, Autism and Paraplegia.
Private Health Insurance
Clients with Private Health Insurance are welcome to engage our services without a referral. If they have a musculoskeletal injury that they are having difficulties managing, then our Exercise Physiologists have the skills and knowledge to teach them how to manage their injury successfully long term. Exercise Physiologists are covered under all major Health Funds as Allied Health Professionals.
Medicare (Enhanced Primary Care Plan)
This program is designed to provide exercise and rehabilitation advice for clients with Chronic Conditions. These include diabetes, obesity, musculo-skeletal injuries (including lumbar and cervical spine injuries as well as chronic conditions of the knees and shoulders), heart disease, high blood pressure and arthritis. These services can also assist clients with dementia, depression and stroke victims. A referral is required from your GP to access these services through Medicare.
Why choose proactive rehabilitation & health?
We explain the purpose of the exercises and the benefits
It is our belief that every program should be designed to suit the individual’s needs, as each person moves differently and each injury is unique. Flexibility, muscular imbalances, stability and strength are all addressed on a personal basis to ensure the client achieves their goals in a timely manner.
Highly Trained Staff
Our staff are trained and work under Mark Goswell, who has been treating clients since 2000. He educates Exercise Physiologist graduates, throughout Australia, on musculoskeletal rehabilitation with courses he has personally written. His experience and knowledge, which is passed onto his staff, means you can be guaranteed the best outcome for your rehabilitation requirements.
Self Management Programs
All clients are educated on how to manage their injuries through exercise on a long term basis. We explain the purpose of the exercises and the benefits they will receive from regular training in an easy to understand method that the client can translate into everyday movements.
