This reduction in pressure to the injured sights provides greater range of movement, stability, and strength to achieve an increase in function.

Flexibility is the initial key in all rehabilitation processes. The focus is on the minimisation of muscular imbalances between left and right to reduce the loads and pressures placed on the body’s joints. This can be achieved through home-based flexibility exercises and release techniques that are specific to the client’s individual needs. When movement becomes limited and/or imbalanced this will increase shearing and torsional forces to the joints that results in the breakdown of movement. This will cause injuries or result in current injuries taking longer to heal.

Movement is complex and involves the integration of a lot of muscles working through a complex lever system. This lever system becomes compromised when parts of it begin to break down due to injury. Each major joint in the body has an integral stabilising system that can be trained to unload affected areas and to improve movement efficiency. Our Exercise Physiologists develop stability programs specific to the needs of the individual through easy to follow and easy to sustain exercises. Our programs can assist in the development of base line stability through to high level functional stability programs suitable for athletes.

The body is made up of Stabilising and Global muscle. The Global muscle system is the driving force of the body and our Exercise Physiologists are experts in the design and delivery of strength programs that will achieve the quickest results due to a focus on technique. This technique-focused training ensures that clients are engaging and using the most appropriate muscles with the correct muscle firing patterns. This results in rapid strength gains to achieve an increase in function. All strength programs are graded and work within pain free ranges of motion. The focus is on functional strength that provides improved management of the clients condition and is targeted towards meeting their specific goals.
